Elder Oaks

Its starting to get really hot up here in kyoto. Its looking for a

nice an toasty summer here. This past week was a pretty quick one! We

started off with interviews with President Welch which went really

well. It was the last time that we will all have an interview with him

before he goes home in June, so it was a really spiritual, uplifting

experience with him. Him and his wife have become role models of my

life, and I have been so blessed to work with them these past 2 years.

On Saturday, we headed to Osaka for a special conference with Elder

Dallin H. Oaks. It was really cool to have an apostle come and visit

our mission, as well as do a broadcast to all of Japan. He talked a

lot about finding joy in the gospel. He answered a lot of the

questions that I have had, and it was a great day.

One of our investigators named Hikari has been working really hard

this past week to stop drinking and smoking! We are doing a two week

plan with him to stop, while he is preparing for his baptism in June.

I have been amazed out how dedicated he is, and how much he wants to

change his life around to follow Jesus Christ. He has been such an

example to me, and has showed me what it is like to really want to

follow Jesus Christ. Please keep him in your prayers this week as he

is continuing to stop!
